The 7 best Kendo AI alternatives

1. InterviewFlowAI: best for screening candidates across roles

What it is: an AI interview platform with scored AI voice role plays, launched in October 2026. You describe a scenario, the AI drafts it, and candidates join through a unique link with no account. Each person gets one attempt. The report scores 3 to 12 weighted criteria into a 0–100 score with must-pass rules and gives a recommendation from Strong yes to No, with the recording, transcript, timestamped evidence and a PDF export. Templates go beyond sales: a frustrated customer escalation, a renewal at risk, a production incident and a difficult feedback conversation.

Pricing: $1.99 per scored role play. The price is the same whether a call runs 3 or 15 minutes. Month to month, no seat fees, 7-day free trial. See InterviewFlowAI pricing.

Where it falls short: one attempt per person per role play, so it isn't built for daily drilling. No live-call scoring, leaderboards, or CRM links. One AI character per call. Very few third-party reviews so far.

2. Overvue: best for SDR hiring and cold-call practice on a budget

What it is: a UK tool that builds AI buyers based on the people your team cold-calls, for both hiring and training. Candidates take the same scenario and criteria and you get a recording, transcript and comparable score. It includes a scorecard library with SPICED, plus leaderboards, badges and levels for reps.

Pricing: Solo $32 a month (2 call hours); Team $250 a month (10 call hours, unlimited seats, 2 concurrent calls). Extra time is $16 an hour. Monthly billing, 20% off for annual, and unused hours roll over while you're subscribed. Unlike Kendo's per-seat minutes, hiring and training draw on one pool of hours.

Where it falls short: sales and cold calls only. ATS or CRM integration is Enterprise-only. It names English and Finnish, with others on request. It's very new.

G2: 4.9.

3. Hyperbound: best for sales teams that want cold-call realism and a free plan

What it is: an AI sales role-play platform with Practice and Perform plans. Perform scores real customer calls; Practice connects to Seismic, Highspot and WorkRamp. It supports multi-party role plays, certifications, leaderboards and 25+ languages, and documents a recruiting flow where applicants use a shared bot link inside a separate Recruiting Org.

Pricing: free plan with prebuilt role plays; paid plans quoted per user. Vendr reports a median of $12,000 a year.

Where it falls short: no published paid prices, and Practice and Perform are separate licences. Its hiring docs don't cover ATS integration, attempt limits or how candidates are licensed.

G2: 4.9.

4. PitchMonster: best for mid-market sales teams in Europe

What it is: role play plus call analysis and an AI coach, with phone, avatar and screen-share modes, 29 languages and EU data residency by default. Its hiring page runs every candidate through the same scenario and offers a coachability retest after feedback.

Pricing: quoted per seat. PitchMonster says most teams start with 5 or more seats on a 12-month standard contract, and seats can be swapped between reps. Capterra lists $39 and $49 per user a month, which may be out of date.

Where it falls short: no price on its own site. The hiring page doesn't document candidate links, ATS integration or anti-cheating.

G2: 4.9.

5. Exec: best for structured training programmes with published prices

What it is: an AI training suite for revenue teams and L&D. Role plays run by voice or video with up to 4 characters, plus group role plays, screen share, call scoring, courses, certifications, leaderboards and LMS links (LTI 1.3).

Pricing: Free (3 seats, 5 role plays per user per year); Starter $20 per seat a month (5-seat minimum, 10 role plays per user per month); Professional $39 per seat a month (15-seat minimum, unlimited role plays). Billed yearly.

Hiring: none. Its "Interview Training" use case trains interviewers, not candidates.

G2: 4.8.

6. Outdoo: best for role play plus conversation intelligence

What it is: formerly MeetRecord, Outdoo combines AI role play with conversation intelligence. Role plays run by voice, chat or video avatar, with multi-persona calls and gatekeeper practice, and one scorecard grades both practice and real calls. Growth includes 40+ LMS integrations.

Pricing: the Free plan includes 60 minutes of role-play credits per account with no card. Growth and Enterprise are quoted; Outdoo says annual contracts are standard and most teams go live in 4 to 6 weeks, with implementation scoped separately.

Hiring: its hiring-assessments product assesses existing team members, not external candidates.

Where it falls short: no published paid prices. G2 complaint themes include call-scoring fairness (17 mentions) and rating accuracy (15).

G2: 4.6, many about the legacy MeetRecord product.

7. Jam: best for enterprise sales hiring that carries into coaching

What it is: a Munich-based revenue activation platform (wejam.ai) whose talent assessments feed into onboarding and coaching. Its hiring docs describe email invites with login instructions, 4–8 minute rounds, and each scenario completed at least twice so the second round shows whether the candidate applies feedback. Behaviours are rated Solved, Partially Solved or Not Solved with transcript evidence. GetYourGuide says "Using Jam has saved us about four hours per hire".

Pricing: not published; you book a demo. Setup takes 1–2 business days with an implementation specialist, and custom scenarios about a week.

Hiring: PDF and CSV export, an API, and Greenhouse, Lever and Workable connectors through your account manager. Data is stored in the EU and candidate data is deleted after 6 months.

Where it falls short: no public pricing or trial, candidates need a login, voice only, and no ranking or shortlisting is described.

G2: no wejam.ai listing found.

Which alternative fits your use case

If you're hiring across several roles, start with InterviewFlowAI, which ties role plays to an AI interview pipeline. If you only hire SDRs, Overvue is the cheapest documented screen, and Jam or PitchMonster suit teams that want to measure coachability. If you're training a sales team, compare Exec Starter on published prices, Hyperbound or PitchMonster for real-call scoring, and Outdoo if you also want conversation intelligence. For more on candidate screens, see role play interviews for hiring.

For 100 candidate role plays a month, our estimates from published prices are: Overvue Team about $3,640–$4,280 a year; Kendo AI about $2,400–$3,300 a year if screening runs on pooled seat minutes (not confirmed by Kendo). For training 10 reps for a year: Exec Starter $2,400; Overvue $2,400–$3,000; Kendo Pro $6,600; PitchMonster $4,680–$5,880 at Capterra's list prices; Hyperbound about $8,400–$12,000 (estimates). InterviewFlowAI charges $1.99 per scored role play, with no seat fees or annual contract, and one attempt per person per role play. See the assumptions.

When to stay with Kendo AI

Stay if you want published per-seat pricing with live-call scoring bundled in, rely on its Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft or dialer integrations, only hire sales reps, and like having practice, call scoring and a sales-hire screen from one seat. Kendo bills monthly, so it's easy to keep alongside a hiring tool. See the full Kendo AI pricing breakdown.

How we chose these tools

We included tools that sell AI voice role play for sales teams and either document a sales-candidate flow or offer pricing a small team can reach. We checked each vendor's own pages and docs, G2, Capterra and Vendr, and labelled competitor-published figures, on 11 October 2026. Cost estimates use published list prices: 100 scored role plays of about 8 minutes a month; Overvue at $250 plus $16 per extra hour; Kendo assuming candidates use pooled seat minutes; 10 seats for training plans. InterviewFlowAI is our product; we've listed its limitations in the same format as everyone else's. For a wider view, see our guide to AI role play software.
