Why teams look for Hyperbound alternatives
Hyperbound has a 4.9 G2 rating, with 9.9 for both ease of setup and support. The reasons buyers compare it are mostly about fit and pricing, not quality.
- No published prices. The pricing page lists Free, Practice and Perform without prices. ZoomInfo, a competitor, notes there's no self-serve paid path for individuals. Vendr puts the median contract at $12,000 a year. See the full Hyperbound pricing breakdown.
- Per-user licences don't map neatly to candidates. Hyperbound's recruiting setup has candidates join a Recruiting Org as members, and its help articles don't say whether they use paid licences.
- Two licences for practice and real calls. Practice and Perform are licensed separately, according to AIToolsBakery's reading of the pricing page.
- Setup effort. G2 reviewers quoted by ZoomInfo say good custom bots take significant upfront work, and Outdoo reports full setup averaging about two weeks. Both publishers compete with Hyperbound.
- Occasional lag. Prospeo's summary of G2 reviews mentions occasional call lag and delayed AI responses. G2's own theme counts for these issues are small.
What to look for in an alternative
- Candidate flow: can you send a link to someone who isn't an employee, with no account, and give every candidate the same scenario once?
- Pricing model: per seat suits a stable team; per session or per hour suits hiring volume that moves.
- Scoring control: weighted criteria, must-pass rules and evidence you can share with a hiring manager.
- Realism: difficulty, personality, hidden information, cold-call behaviour and avatars.
- Training depth: repeat practice, leaderboards, certifications and real-call scoring.
- Integrations: ATS for hiring; CRM, LMS and Gong for training.
- Terms: monthly or annual, seat minimums, free trial.

The 7 best Hyperbound alternatives
1. InterviewFlowAI: best for screening candidates across roles
What it is: an AI interview platform with scored AI voice role plays, launched in October 2026. You describe a scenario, the AI drafts it, and candidates join through a unique link with no account. Each person gets one attempt. The report scores 3 to 12 weighted criteria into a 0–100 score with must-pass rules and gives a recommendation from Strong yes to No, with the recording, transcript, timestamped evidence and a PDF export. Templates cover cold calls, discovery, pricing objections, renewals at risk, customer escalations, production incidents and difficult feedback.
Pricing: $1.99 per scored role play. Month to month, no seat fees, 7-day free trial. See InterviewFlowAI pricing.
Where it falls short: one attempt per person per role play, so it isn't built for daily drilling. No leaderboards, LMS or CRM links, or real-call scoring. One AI character per call. Very few third-party reviews so far.
2. Kendo AI: best for SMB sales teams that also screen sales hires
What it is: an "AI sales manager" that combines voice role play, real-call scoring and manager automation. Its screening tool lets you build an AI prospect from your real calls, share it with applicants and get transcripts and call scores back. Customers named on its site include SamCart and United Insurance Pros.
Pricing: Pro $55 per seat a month (180 role-play minutes and 25 hours of call scoring per seat); Max $100 per seat a month (480 minutes, 100 hours). Usage is pooled across the team. Free trial with no card.
Hiring: a real sales screening flow. No ATS integration is mentioned, and the page doesn't say which plan includes screening.
Where it falls short: sales only. Outdoo, a competitor, reports it's voice-only with a single persona. Kendo says it's "currently undergoing SOC type II certification".
G2: 4.9.
3. Overvue: best for SDR hiring and cold-call practice on a budget
What it is: a UK tool that builds AI buyers based on the people your team cold-calls, for both hiring and training. Candidates take the same scenario and criteria and you get a recording, transcript and comparable score.
Pricing: Solo $32 a month (2 call hours); Team $250 a month (10 call hours, unlimited seats, 2 concurrent calls). Extra time is $16 an hour. Monthly billing, and unused hours roll over while you're subscribed.
Where it falls short: sales and cold calls only. ATS or CRM integration is Enterprise-only. It names English and Finnish, with others on request. It's very new.
G2: 4.9.
4. PitchMonster: best for mid-market training with EU data residency
What it is: role play plus call analysis and an AI coach, with phone, avatar and screen-share modes, 29 languages and EU data residency by default. Its hiring page runs every candidate through the same scenario and offers a coachability retest after feedback.
Pricing: quoted per seat. PitchMonster says most teams start with 5 or more seats on a 12-month standard contract, and seats can be swapped between reps. Capterra lists $39 and $49 per user a month, which may be out of date.
Where it falls short: no price on its own site. The hiring page doesn't document candidate links, ATS integration or anti-cheating.
G2: 4.9.
5. Second Nature: best for enterprise L&D inside an LMS
What it is: the most-reviewed specialist AI role-play vendor, with LMS links (Cornerstone, Docebo, SuccessFactors, Adobe Learning Manager), Salesforce and HubSpot, SCORM, certifications, gamification and video avatars (English, single persona).
Pricing: quote only. Outdoo, a competitor, reports $50 per active user per month and a minimum around $20,000 a year.
Hiring: its HR page markets AI interviews that give each applicant an objective score, but candidate access and ATS integration aren't documented.
Where it falls short: price and setup. G2 review themes include "Inaccurate Information" (21 mentions) and "Learning Curve" (15).
G2: 4.7.
6. Mindtickle: best for consolidating enablement on one suite
What it is: a full revenue enablement suite where AI role play is one module, with 25+ languages, deep Salesforce integration, certifications and a Readiness Index.
Pricing: quote only. Vendr reports a median contract of $44,356 a year (range $11,157–$138,726) plus onboarding fees of $10,000 to $50,000 or more. ZoomInfo, a competitor, says two-way AI role play costs extra beyond the base packages.
Hiring: a July 2026 Mindtickle blog explains how to use AI role play in sales recruiting, but no candidate access model is documented.
Where it falls short: complex for smaller teams, with 1–3 year contracts.
G2: 4.7.
7. Exec: best for structured training programmes with a free start
What it is: an AI training suite for revenue teams and L&D. Role plays run by voice or video with up to 4 characters, plus group role plays, screen share, call scoring, courses, certifications, leaderboards and LMS links (LTI 1.3).
Pricing: Free (3 seats, 5 role plays per user per year); Starter $20 per seat a month (5-seat minimum, 10 role plays per user per month); Professional $39 per seat a month (15-seat minimum, unlimited role plays). Billed yearly.
Hiring: none. Its "Interview Training" use case trains interviewers, not candidates.
G2: 4.8.
Which alternative fits your use case
If you're hiring, start with the tools that document a candidate flow: InterviewFlowAI for several role types and an AI interview pipeline, Kendo AI or Overvue for sales-only screening, and PitchMonster if you want a coachability retest. If you're training a small sales team, compare Kendo AI, Overvue and Exec Starter on published prices. If you're running enterprise enablement, Second Nature and Mindtickle are the closest like-for-like replacements, with Exec as a newer option.
For 100 candidate role plays a month, our estimates from published prices are: Overvue Team about $3,640–$4,280 a year; Kendo AI about $2,400–$3,300 a year if screening runs on pooled seat minutes (not confirmed by Kendo). InterviewFlowAI charges $1.99 per scored role play, with no seat fees or annual contract. See the assumptions. For more on running these screens, see role play interviews for hiring, or our wider guide to AI role play software.
When to stay with Hyperbound
Stay if your reps practise every week, you use real-call scoring on Perform, you rely on its Seismic, Highspot, CRM or Gong connections, or you need multi-party buyer calls. None of the hiring-first tools on this list replaces that depth.
How we chose these tools
We included tools that sell AI voice role play for sales or customer-facing roles and that have public product or pricing information. We checked each vendor's own pages, G2, Capterra, Vendr and labelled competitor-published figures on 11 October 2026. Cost estimates use published list prices: 100 scored role plays of about 8 minutes a month; Overvue at $250 plus $16 per extra hour; Kendo assuming candidates use pooled seat minutes. InterviewFlowAI is our product; we've listed its limitations in the same format as everyone else's.
